Portfolio

As an Puppet Maker, Animator and Wood Carver, I bring a unique mix of creative talents to my work. My work ranges from stop-motion animation to creating highly-detailed wooden puppets. My love for storytelling comes alive when creating each one-of-a-kind piece and making each project a unique adventure. Whether creating original stop motion animations or breathing life into an existing story with hand-crafted characters, I am excited by the creative challenge and creating meaningful work. I am always looking for the next project, story or character to bring to life!

Puppets

01

Clowns

These two clown wooden tabletop puppets are a tribute to 1950s cartoon artistry. Each puppet has a unique personality with distinct characteristics and a hand-carved wooden body that allows them to move with simple one-handed control. The saturated colors and black-and-white eyes that hark back to the cartoons of the era provide a real nostalgic charm. The fabric used for the costumes is all recycled and gives each puppet a real feeling of individuality. The felted hair, nose, and hats further express the vibrant nature of the puppets.

The acrylic-painted faces give the puppets a warm, happy expression. The added magnetised noses allow them to take them on and off as desired adding to the playfulness of the two clowns.

02

Pirate

This pirate hand puppet was carved by hand using lime wood. The face has been carefully

painted with acrylic. His hair, beard, and hat have been felted with soft wool. The costume has been assembled from quality strap material and classic-style buttons for an accurate outfit. His legs and hook hand have been fashioned from felt. This creates a fun pirate companion.

03

dada

This wooden rod puppet was made with the dada movement in mind. the head of the puppet is painted freely with acrylic color. the body is block painted in vibrate colors to give a unique look. the body was hand carved with lime wood and attached to wooden dowels that give a more dynamic and realistic movement to the puppet.

Village

This project was made for a short stop-motion film set in a small English village. I used a laser cutter to build the houses. I used modeling techniques to form the village scenery and trees.
